Sackets Harbor Sustainable Energy Fair

The Village of Sackets Harbor as part of the Sackets Harbor Green Initiative will be holding a Sustainable Energy Fair on Saturday, September 6, at the Sackets Harbor Central School Gym from 10 am to 4 pm.

The theater half of the gym will be designated for sustainable energy and "going green" presentations.  Presentations include: Anne Heinderich on the programs offered by NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Agency), "Solar and Wind Power Installation for Residential and Commercial Use" by Bob Ellison (an installer of Solar and Wind Systems) "Insulated Concrete Form as a highly efficient building material" by Watertown Building Supply, "Solar in the North Country" by contractor Dean Anthony, other participants include Bruce Armstrong and his electric car, Cowles and Company Contractors, and many more.    We also hope to have Cornell Cooperative Extension participating and SUNY

There will be "Green Vendors" displaying their products and services in the other half of the gym.  Interested vendors can contact Mike Kinnie at the Village of Sackets Harbor,

Admission to the event is free and open to the public.  Everyone interested in saving money on his or her energy bill are encouraged to attend.  "Going "green" is good for our planet and good for your pocket book", according to Mayor Mike Kinnie.  For more information about going green please check out the "Green Guide" developed for the Village of Sackets Harbor by students from SUNY
